Southampton Science and Engineering Festival

Southampton Science and Engineering Festival (SOTSEF) is the University of Southampton’s annual celebration of Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts and Mathematics (STEAM). The festival is filled with exciting hands-on and inspiring activities, with evening ‘satellite’ events throughout the two weeks where everyone is welcomed to join-in, explore and unleash their curiosity. The Festival centres around ‘Science and Engineering Day’, a free, family friendly day-long extravaganza where the University’s Highfield Campus is opened to visitors to discover hundreds of hands-on activities based on current research at the University and it’s community partners. There is often everything from live science shows to black hole poetry and close encounters with the latest advances in drone technology as well as the opportunity to talk to the students and researchers working in these areas.
